Application Process

for Critical Illness Cover

One of our aims at Memigo is to make the process of buying insurance as quick, easy and painless as possible. We believe it can be worth paying a few extra pence per month to get an insurer that will process your critical illness application as quickly and smoothly as possible. However we leave that decision with you.

We use the very latest application techniques available and we will show you the insurers that have an online critical illness application process available for you to use. This means that with these companies you could have a live policy in a matter of minutes.

Next to each insurer on our quotation engine you will see up to two options:

• Apply online – If you select this option your personal and quote details will be transferred to the relevant insurers system and you will be able to apply for your insurance online direct with them with the minimum of fuss. This is the quickest and simplest way to obtain life insurance on line as you could be on-risk within minutes. Unfortunately not all insurance companies offer this service as yet.
• Download paper Application – If you select this option you will be able to download an application pack. This should be completed and returned to us in the post. We will then transfer the application on to the relevant insurer. The quickest this process will normally be able to get you cover is approximately 1 week, depending on postal delays.

We recommend you complete your application as soon as possible. Once the application has been accepted you can then defer the actual start until you are ready.

Once the insurer has received your completed application (whether online or as a paper application) the majority of cases are accepted immediately. In the minority of cases further information is required. This could be to clarify certain aspects of your medical history or to get up to date test results etc. This could be in the form of further information from you, your Doctor or a medical examination carried out by your Doctor or a mobile nurse. Sometimes the insurer may call you to obtain the relevant information.
